Living Forever

A great man once sang to me
With a voice so plaintive
Asking after hidden eternity

Sweet things did roll from his lips
Speaking of endless nights together
Filled with kisses and fingertips

Trapped in visions of forever
I followed him so willingly
Lured by promises of pleasure

Til at last he was consumed
A great blaze gone silent
Singing naught but oaths ruined

So I have decided to live forever
Carrying on and onward in his name
With naught save his word for measure
