Doubt

Twists and turns lead to forgotten words
Memories steeped in decay
Though they like wings of flightless birds
Have all but rotted away

Narrow corridors of the mind and the secrets they hide
Call like burst blood vessels
But follow the streams of supine and their tides
To learn where doubt has nestled

Syllables trapped like insects in amber
Wings are held in stasis abuzz
It shall throw a line so far off camber
And forget whatever it once was
