Literature Text

Lay low little children and weep for the dawn
Now you learn that the night is long
Sing of the stars, oh how they twinkle
That you may know your eyes and how they sprinkle

Voices shake and rise to plead
As little throats tear and bleed
Learn the lessons well, open your ears
And let little minds find their fears

Do you fear the thunder child?
Or the world beyond, all tangled and wild?
You will know that it is the lightning, in truth
That will tear from you nail and tooth

For the time is here, little ones
When you shall pray hard to see the sun
So wrap yourselves as best you can
Because, little ones, I am the Boogeyman
Halloween is close-ish, right?
